Pre IMNZ update

February 15 - 2008:
Well it is not long now until I head off down to Taupo to race another NZ Ironman.  I just love it, I can't wait until we load up the car and head south of Auckland to the beautiful town of Taupo.  There is such a view as you enter the town, I get goose bumps every time we enter.  Just thinking what is coming up in a few days time!!!   Training has

been going very well, the weather here in the this part of the world has been amazing.  I don't think I can ever remember a summer as good as this one.  The humidity at night has been the only annoying thing.  But hey, what the heck, it is better then being cold.  I can't really believe the race is just around the corner, I am taking a mini break this morning to recover from one of my last BIG MUMA WEEKENDS.  Finally I got to run one of the most amazing runs in the world.  I have been incorporating alot of WAITAKERE runs into my programme this year, these runs have been clocked by some of the legends.  It was the typical training ground of Arthur Lydiard and his boys.  It is so awesome to be pounding the EXACT SAME COURSES AS THESE OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS HAVE DONE.  Nothing like making you dig deep.  You gotta practice how you race.  I am looking forward to my 9th race here in Taupo, it is hard to believe that i have done sooooooo many, and I really only feel like i am beginning.  I am very excited about my race this year, I have been working on some new stuff in my training and I can't wait to deliver it on March 1.  I hope everyone is doing well, and hope you are all feeling fighting fit, if you aren't, don't worry, there is a time and place for everything.  Just keep focused on your plan and your goal, and never loose focus on that.  take care and see you out there somewhere!!!! HUGS JO
