Still in kona.................
Well things are going well, I am still here in Kona! taking some good time off to let my body and mind recover. It has been a long year, with many hi's and a couple of low's......
I am really really really enjoying racing the Half Ironmans....I have been to many different places and different races this year and having fun times. The point system this year to qualfiy for Ironman Kona was different...different for all of us. We all had our own spread sheets working out different scenarios. I felt that if I got in, I would just go and race.....see what the body can give me.
I qualified last.....got the final spot......I was excited to race here, but I was more exited to race at Vegas for the 70.3!! I had planned on this race, prepared for it.....I felt like I had a goal and new my path. But kona was a last minute selection. I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee kona, and there is so much more on the island than just the Ironman Race itself.
The vibe, the hype, the excitement, the gossip, the new gear, the schwag and all the rest of it, it is what adds to everything about coming to kona. The race has come and gone, I am disappointed off course but when I look back at how I planned my year, Kona was a far off shot, but the half ironman was a goal. I guess like everything if you put the work in towards a goal, it pays off. I have looked back and thought...................what a rough day I had, but many people had harder days, better days or DNF's.....take what you get, move on and learn from it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! not everyday or every race can go to plan........
So congratsssssssssssssssssssssssssss to everyone who raced, who did well, who finished....and who came....there is plenty more out there so go and get it!!
takecare and aloooooooooooooooooha!!
hugs
