Chipirones su tinta
Well I am here in the Basque country...northern Spain.....and I am loving every second of it.
I arrived here safe and sound from a longgggggggggg trip, NZ to london, where I raced the TriGrandprix half ironman, I may have been asleep, but wow what a race. It was hard, hilly and honest. I had a great day, even though I felt like it was in the middle of the night. I had done some solid training at home before packing up, and it showed on raceday.
So now we are in spain, getting ready, rested and refuelled for the next event of the Trigrandprix. It is being held in this awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee town called Zarautz...northern spain, I have been here many times over the past few years, but only on vacation. Armando and I love the area, the lifestyle, the people and the foooooooooooooood. Wow o wow, we enjoy again every second.
So for me, it is bread for breaky, yum, then insalada mixta, and pescado for lunch, then dinner is bread, insalada mixta again and then CHIPIRONES SU TINTA.!!!!!!! the best dish in the world. It is calamari (squid) in the black ink. It sounds and looks scarey but flavour, is out of this world. I am glad I am here to race, so the thought of eating all this great food is well worth it and for a good reason. To be fit, healthy and strong for the race.
Off now for a nap, after a big lunch of sardines......I am feeling tired so better rest up before we head out the door to ride amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
